Stonewall sweeps Page County in Senior Night VB

Stonewall Jackson celebrated the final regular season of Amanda Kingan, Nadene Pence, Brooke Gonzalez, Jazmin Wimer and Heather Stout by sweeping Page County 25-18, 25-23, 23-17.

Dennis Atwood was on hand for the Northern Virginia Daily and you can check out his gamer after 5:00 A.M. on Friday at

Stonewall finishes 3RD in the District and will host #6 Buffalo Gap on Monday.

Page County finishes 4TH in the District and will host #5 Central on Monday.

Notes from Coach Stout:
Riverheads won last evening’s game at SJ in 4.  Scores were as follows:  22-25, 29-27, 23-25, 22-25.  Stat leaders for SJ:  Nadene Pence: 15 service points, 8 kills, Heather Stout: 24 kills, 11 service points, 8 digs, 3 blocks, Whitney Wilkins: 38 assists, Haley Stover and Ashlie Clar: 4 kills apiece and Taylor Koontz: 5 digs.

Cross Country Notes from Coach Clanahan:
Congratualtions to the Stonewall Jackson Women’s Cross Country Team who have now qualified for the Region B Championship Meet to be held on Wednesday November 4, 2009 @ Panarama Farm in Charlottesville.  The girls were lead by senior Amber Campbell who placed 17th overall followed closed by teamates, Mandy Miller (21), Caitlin O’Connell (22), Kayleigh Roy (23), Ashley Eickenhorst (25), Bethany Sager (27) and Estafonia Resendez-Garcia (28th). 
In the Men’s division the Generals will send two medalist to the Region B Meet.  Brandon Jones and Jared Lohr who qualified with 4th and 9th places respectively.
